How to add Klaytn (KLAY) to MetaMask Wallet
Klaytn to MetaMask Wallet

Klaytn is an open public blockchain service platform specialized in building an infrastructure where other blockchain services can be built and managed. It uses the Istanbul Byzantine fault tolerant (IBFT) consensus algorithm based on proof of stake (PoS).

In this guide, we'll walk you through how you can connect Klaytn to your MetaMask Wallet.

💡
MetaMask is mostly used as a wallet for Ethereum, but it's also compatible with Klaytn due to the identical address structures. Although, Klaytn has a browser extension wallet called Kaikas, its features are also similar to MetaMask.

What is Klaytn?

Klaytn is an EVM layer1 blockchain project that combines the unique potentials of both public and private blockchains in order to deliver a user-friendly blockchain experience via its hybrid infrastructure. It's also an open-source public blockchain for all who wish to build, work, or play in the metaverse.

Specifically, Klaytn makes use of a modular network that allows businesses to seamlessly interface, and also operate their own customized service-oriented blockchain on the Klaytn architecture. These mini blockchains are called service chains and they run autonomously as subnetworks.

The service chains built on Klaytn architecture are flexible and easy to customize. Therefore, they can accommodate any kind of web service. For instance, financial services, insurance, buying and selling, merchandise, outsourcing, etc.

Briefly on MetaMask

MetaMask on the other hand is a popular crypto wallet that can get you connected to different blockchains and decentralized platforms.
