How to add MATIC to MetaMask Wallet
Add Polygon to MetaMask

Note that there isn't an obvious distinction between Polygon and Matic. The Matic Network was only rebranded to Polygon. However, because it would be difficult to change the name of the token (since it would have to be changed at the smart contract level), the token is still known as MATIC.

What is Polygon & MetaMask?

Polygon is a layer two scaling solution that runs alongside the Ethereum blockchain allowing for speedy transactions and low fees. MATIC is the network’s native cryptocurrency, which is used for fees, staking, and more. MATIC coins are available in mainstream Exchanges.

To use the Polygon network, you can bridge your crypto assets over to Polygon, and then interact with a wide range of popular crypto apps that were once exclusive to the main Ethereum blockchain.

MetaMask on the other hand is one of the most widely-used Wallets. You can send, receive, and manage tokens and cryptocurrencies from Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and other blockchains. With MetaMask, you can store NFTs, crypto art, and other crypto collectibles. Its browser extension is compatible with Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Brave.
